NiO Photography specializes in Alpine nature and landscape photography. Usually, each series of photographs of trips, events and other travels, has a separate gallery dedicated to it (see the full gallery list page for a complete overview of all galleries). A selection of all photographs is also kept in one of the theme-based featured galleries as showcased below.
Photographs of the (Swiss) alpine countryside. The gallery contains an interesting mix of subjects: alpine meadows with yellow flowers, cows, barns and farm houses, wooden bridges, old agricultural machines, sheep, goats, farmers in traditional clothing, etc.
Photographs of alpine mountain scenery, both in winter and in summer with varying weather conditions. The gallery holds images of many mountains, including some well-known alps like: the Mont-Blanc, The Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau and the Matterhorn.
A gallery containing images that try to capture the beauty of forests, trees and woodlands. In some cases the images also feature water, like small rivers and waterfalls in forests. The images are taken in all four seasons.
A collections of photographs of animals. This gallery focuses on “not so wildlife”, being domesticated animals like cats, dogs, horses, cows, goats, sheep, chickens, etc.
A gallery of landscape images, featuring water: mountain and canyon rivers, waterfalls, mountain lakes and larger lakes, like Lake Lucerne and Lake Geneva. The images are shot in all seasons.
A collection of colorful twilight photographs taken between dawn and sunrise and between sunset and dusk, often capturing special lighting and interesting silhouettes. The images are predominantly shot in the Alps, in some cases near a lake.
A collection of aerial landscape photographs. These images are taken from an elevated position, for instance an airplane, hot air balloon or a mountain. All the aerial shots feature the Alps.
Photographs with objects visualized in the form of a silhouette, e.g. a shadow-like representation of the shape of something. Featured objects are mountains, animals, trees and flowers.
Photographs of various plants, colorful flowers, leaves, trees with sprouts and an occasional cactus. The gallery includes macro shots as well as landscapes with flowers or plants as the main subject.
A limited collection of Images of wildlife. At the moment the gallery only contains images of kites, foxes, toads, ducks and coots.
A collection of photographs of glaciers and their surroundings. The glacier are shot both as landscapes and close-up. At the moment the gallery contains images of the Mer de Glace glacier in Chamonix and the Grenz glacier in Zermatt.
A gallery of photographs of mushrooms. I happen to run into them a lot.
