This minimalist winter landscape features a line of old-fashioned wooden telephony poles in a hilly landscape with snow. You will find many like these in the Swiss countryside. These particular wooden telephony poles are located near the small town of Sâles in the Swiss canton of Fribourg. Johan Peijnenburg lives in this canton.
It was a cold and misty winter day, but it started to clear a bit when this photograph was taken. All in all, very nice conditions to photograph more minimalist winter landscape photographs. The telephony poles in this landscape lead the eye toward the horizon and the cloudy sky in the back. The dark wood of the poles stands out nicely against the white of the snow and fog. It creates a distinctly soothing and minimalist mood as a result. The title “Out of Sight” seems quite fitting for this minimalist winter landscape with snow.
Make sure to also check out the photograph titled Fading. It features the same telephone poles, bit with a very different composition.
This minimalist winter landscape with snow is part of our Minimalist photography theme. The Minimalist theme contains many more minimalist photographs like this one.
