Printing is the final and most rewarding stage of photography. A photo often already looks quite nice on a computer screen, however, there is nothing more special than viewing it as a large print on museum-grade paper!

You can purchase a print of any of the photographs that you see in our landscape & nature photography portfolio. Here you will find answers to frequently asked questions regarding the fine art prints as well as ready-to-hang print types that we offer. Fine art prints

A fine art print is a print made on museum-grade fine art paper using a high-resolution large format inkjet printer and premium archival inks. You will still have to arrange matting and framing once the print arrives at your home. It does come with an additional 1 to 2″ (25.4 to 50.8 mm) white border to facilitate matting and framing.

We offer the following paper choices:

  • Canson Infinity Rag Photographique
This is a 100% cotton rag matte paper, with an extra smooth surface and a soft feel. It has a medium black density and 90% whiteness and maintains textures in the photograph without enhancing them. Furthermore, contrasts remain subtle. This matte paper is ideal for photos that are about subtlety, the softness of the light and a painterly look and feel.
  • Hahnemühle Photo Rag
This is a 100% cotton rag matte paper as well. It has a lightly defined felt structure and gives deep blacks, good contrast and colour saturation. It has a 93% whiteness.
  • Canson Infinity PrintMaKing Rag
A 100% cotton mould-made traditional matte printmaking paper. It has a wonderfully soft yet distinct texture. As a result, the paper slightly enhances detail in the photograph and has a medium black density. With an 82% whiteness, it is somewhat warmer than Rag Photographique. Contracts remain subtle when using this paper as well.
  • Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin
This fibre-based paper has a smooth satin gloss finish with a higher black density compared to the matte papers mentioned above. It provides intense colours, deep blacks, as well as excellent image sharpness. Hahnemühle FineArt Baryta Satin has a whiteness of 92%.
  • Canson Infinity Platine Fibre Rag
A lustre-like 100% cotton rag paper with a satin gloss, extra high black density and a subtle texture. Platine Fibre Rag has an 89% whiteness. As a result, it has slightly warmer highlights. Furthermore, it offers deep blacks and colours remain subtle.

These fine art papers all comply with the ISO 9706 standard for maximum longevity. They all work well with both colour and black & white photographs.

Please do not hesitate to contact us in case you need help with picking a paper or size!

There are many matting and framing options. Furthermore, personal tastes vary wildly. In general, we advise clients to visit a local print shop to see the various matting and framing options in person. That usually is the most convenient and cost-effective approach.

Yes, we do. Please get in touch in case you cannot find the paper finish or size you are after! We will gladly help you find what you need!

To keep the fine art prints looking great, handle them with care and preferably frame them right away. We strongly recommend the use of cotton gloves when handling prints. Also, avoid overly rubbing the surface! The delicate surface of print paper is less resistant to scratches than that of regular paper.

Please note that we cannot be held responsible for damage that occurred during framing or mounting the print!

Fine art canvas wrap

It is a beautiful and contemporary way to display a photograph and ready to hang when it arrives at your home.

To create the canvas wrap, we first print the photo directly on museum-quality canvas material using high-quality archival inks. Then we stretch and staple the print onto an extra-strong wooden frame by hand. Next, your choice of lustre or glossy laminate is applied. The laminate protects the surface of the print from scuffs, scratches, cracking and UV light.

Upon ordering a canvas wrap, you can choose between frame depths of 0.75″ (19.5 mm), 1.5″ (38.1 mm) or 2.5″ (63.5 mm).

No! A canvas wrap is not ideal for photos that contain important edge detail. Respectively 1.375″ (34.9 mm), 2.125″ (54 mm) and 3.125″ (79.4 mm) of the photo is wrapped around each side of the frame, depending on the frame depth that you choose!

Yes, we do. Fine art canvas wraps can be custom made in any/every size between 5×5″ (12.7 cm by 12.7 cm) and 42×92″ (106.7cm by 233.7cm) depending on frame depth and the size of the photograph that you select. Contact us, and we will be happy to discuss your needs and provide you with a quote!

Handle a canvas wrap with care and preferably hang it right away. We strongly recommend the use of cotton gloves when handling prints. Also, avoid overly rubbing the surface!

A canvas wrap only needs an occasional gentle dusting with a soft, lint-free and non-abrasive cloth or feather duster. To remove any dirt or streaks, use a small amount of soap with water and gently rub the affected areas with a clean, lint-free soft cloth. Do not immerse the canvas in water and do not use cleaning products as these can damage the material.

Acrylic print

An acrylic print is a sleek and modern way to display a photograph. The use of acrylic gives it extra depth and radiance.

To create it, we first make a vivid high-detail lustre print. We then face-mount it behind acrylic with a 1/8″ (3.2 mm) thickness. Next, we mount the combination on a DiBond backing to make the wall display sturdy and substantial. You can opt for a non-glare finish for areas where reflections is an issue.

The acrylic print is ready to hang when it arrives at your home. It will come with hanging hardware and instructions.

Acrylic prints can be custom made in any/every size between 10×10″ (25.4 cm by 25.4 cm) and 42×92″ (106.7cm by 233.7cm). Additionally, we can offer them with a 1/4″ (6.4 mm) thick layer of acrylic as an alternative to the standard 1/8″ (3.2 mm) thickness. The 3D effect is more pronounced with a thicker layer of acrylic. Besides that, we can offer the use of stainless posts for mounting the print. Posts float the print 1″ (25.4 mm) out from the wall. Contact us in case you are interested in these custom options, and we will be happy to provide you with a quote!

Store your acrylic print flat until you are ready to hang it. Standing or leaning your acrylic print for extended periods may cause it to cold form or take the shape of an uneven surface.

Yes. An acrylic print, however, only needs an occasional gentle dusting with a non-abrasive cloth. To remove any dirt or streaks, use a small amount of soap with water and gently rub with a clean, soft towel. Follow up with a clean, damp cloth and dry by blotting with a soft cloth.

Do not use and products that contain ammonia or alcohol because they will damage the acrylic. Also, do not use paper towels or other rough materials on acrylic. To close, never get the back of the acrylic print wet!

Metal prints

A metal print is a print on aluminium. We infuse dyes directly into a specially coated aluminium sheet, to create a beautiful print that is both vibrant and luminescent with great details. The metal itself does not show through the photo.

A metal print is mounted on 2 mm thick black styrene and floats 3/4″ (19 mm) from the wall. You have the choice between two edge treatments:

  • Natural edge
In this case, the side of the metal sheet will be visible and as a result will contrast with the 2 mm black styrene backing.
  • Black edge
In this case, the metal edge gets a black finish to match the 2 mm black styrene backing.

A metal print is ready to hang when it arrives at your home. It comes with hanging hardware and instructions.

Please note: Metal prints are prints on aluminium with a coating. The coating sometimes contains some small imperfections.

Yes! Metal Prints can be custom made in any/every size between 4 by 4″ (10.2 by 10.2 cm) and 48 x 96″ (121.9 by 243.8 cm), providing the photograph is large enough. Just get in contact, and we will be happy to discuss your needs!

Handle metal prints carefully to avoid bending, denting or crushing the material. Metal prints are weatherproof and moisture-proof, but they can fade over time, so it is best to avoid direct sunlight.

Yes. Clean the surface using a soft cloth with non-ammonia based window cleaner or just water.</p

Fine art panel

It is a panel that stands out from your wall and lends a clean and contemporary look to your print. We print and mount the photograph on a 3/4” (19.1 mm) lightweight backing with an edge finish of your choice. Next, we add mounting holes to the backside, making the print ready to hang when it arrives at your home.

You have the choice between three museum-grade papers:

  • Photo Rag Baryta by Hahnemühle
A 100% cotton paper that gives photographs an elegant sheen with warm whites, rich blacks and a gloss finish.
  • Aquarelle Rag by Arches
A 100% cotton paper with a watercolour texture and matte finish. The natural grain of the paper beautifully displays pure white for clarity and contrast of highlights and mid-tones.
  • Torchon by Hahnemühle
A high quality pure cellulose watercolour paper with bright whites and a distinct, coarsely textured surface.

The lightweight backing has a 3/4” (19.1 mm) deep edge. You have the following edge choices:

  • Black edge finish
A sleek and slightly textured plastic edging. Perfect for any paper type.
  • White edge finish
A clean and slightly textured plastic edging. Perfect for any paper type as well.
  • Stainless steel edge finish
A modern and edgy stainless steel edging.
  • Light wood edge finish
Naturally beautiful, light wood is the perfect choice for warm outdoor imagery. It works well with all paper finishes.
  • Bamboo edge finish
    A distinct bamboo edge finish.

We do to a certain extent. We can offer a panel with a 1.5″ (3.8 cm) thick backing for specific sizes on request. Additionally, we can offer one that uses an FSC certified bamboo backing instead of a lightweight backing. Just get in contact in case you are interested in these options, and we will be happy to provide you with a quote!

Unfortunately, we cannot offer custom print sizes for fine art panels.

Handle the panel with care and preferably hang it right away. We strongly recommend the use of cotton gloves when handling it to avoid leaving fingerprints. Furthermore, avoid overly rubbing its surface!

Yes, but it only needs an occasional gentle dusting with a soft, lint-free and non-abrasive cloth or feather duster.
