Bumblebees (or humble-bees) primarily live on higher altitudes or latitudes in the Northern Hemisphere. This bumblebee on a flower lives somewhere in the mountains of the Swiss Alps. Bumblebees usually ignore people. Besides, they take their time. As a result, they are great subjects to include in flower photography like in this photograph. Bumblebees gather nectar to add to the stores in the nest and pollen to feed their young.

The flower in this nature photograph is a Geranium Sylvaticum flower. Alternative names are wood cranesbill and woodland geranium. It is native to Europe and northern Turkey.

This close-up, also called a macro photograph, of a bumblebee on a flower, is part of our growing Nature’s Detail photography portfolio.
