This minimalist lake landscape in B&W shows a line of rocks found at the shores of Lac de Neuchâtel, near the small Swiss town of Estavayer-le-Lac. Lac de Neuchâtel is one of the larger lakes in Switzerland and a great place to photograph images like this. The bird on the rightmost rock is a coot by the way. It was sleeping whilst standing on one leg.

It was a calm and sunny summer day. A great day to photograph minimalist scenes like this one titled “On the Rocks”. There was hardly any wind. As a result, the water of the lake was nicely smooth, which makes the photo quite soothing and zen. Undoubtedly, the black and white presentation of this minimalist lake landscape in B&W helps with that as well. Less is more!
