This Swiss winter landscape features Lac Blue. Lac Bleu is a small mountain lake located near Arolla, a small village in the Val d’Hérens (Eringer Valley) in the Canton of Valais, Switzerland. Arolla is a great place for landscape photography. This is especially the case in autumn and winter. The village lies at the foot of majestic mountain peaks, and many hiking and ski tours start there. One of the trails leads you up to Lac Bleu. Lac Blue lies at an altitude of 2,090 metres (6,857 ft) in a beautiful alpine setting with larch and arolla forests.
Lac Blue is covered with a thick layer of fresh snow in this Swiss winter landscape photograph. Soft light warms the lake and the Swiss Alps. As a result, there is an interesting contrast between the moody clouds in the back and the scenery in the foreground. By the way, the mountain in the background is the Grande Dent de Veisivi. The Grande Dent de Veisivi is a mountain of the Swiss Pennine Alps and has an altitude of 3,418 metres (11,214 ft).

This reminds me of “walking” through deep snow in Greenland. Where the path may lead too. 😀

Yep! 🙂 I think I still have a photo of that day somewhere in my archives 🙂
