This Swiss landscape photograph features the Silsersee at sunrise. The Silsersee, or Lake Sils in English, is a lake in the Upper Engadine valley of Graubünden in Switzerland. The lake lies at an altitude of 1,797 metres (5,896 ft) above sea level. It is an excellent location for photographing alpenglow on the Swiss Alps that surround the lake.
This lake landscape photograph in black & white was captured during an autumn sunrise. There was a bit of fog on the lake. Furthermore, there was hardly any wind. As a result, the mountains are reflected nicely in the lake. The main mountain that you see in this photograph is Piz de la Margna. It is 3,159 m (10,364 ft) high.
