Lac de Joux is a lake near L’Abbaye in the Jura-Nord Vaudois district in the Vallée de Joux. The Vallée de Joux is part of the Swiss canton of Vaud. As can be seen in this photograph, the shores of the lake are quite pretty. It was a beautiful morning when this photograph was taken. The soft light of the sunrise was warming the trees on the rocky shores as well as the water of Lac de Joux. The clouds in the sky were nicely soft and had pastel colours.
The Vallée de Joux, with its lake, is a lovely region for hiking in all seasons. It has many beautiful viewpoints. It lies between two Jura Mountain Ranges and has a rugged and unspoilt countryside. Lac de Joux lies at an altitude of 1,000 metres (3280 ft) above sea level and is the largest body of water in the Jura Massif.
