Trees with a fresh dusting of snow are beautiful. This landscape photograph in B&W tries to illustrate that. The view captured in this alpine snow landscape, titled “Dusted with Snow”, is a view from a higher altitude near La Fouly in the canton of Valais in Switzerland. La Fouly has a quite a few beautiful winter hiking trails that offer many superb viewpoints for winter landscape photography. Make sure to go there if you get the chance and bring your snowshoes!
It snowed just before this winter photograph was captured. The late afternoon sun sheds light on the spruce trees and the mountain face on which the trees are standing. There is a subtle play of shadows and light as a result. If you look closely, you will see chamois and alpine ibexes looking for food in the background.
