One of the best places to photograph autumn in the Swiss Alps is the Engadin region in Graubünden. This region offers many attractive landscape photography opportunities. Engadin not only has beautiful mountains, lakes and mountain rivers. It also has vast larch tree forests. Make sure to visit the region when you get the chance!
This lake landscape photograph features Lake Sils or Silsersee in German. The view shown is close to Sils im Engadin/Segl. The town and the lake lie at an altitude of 1,797 metres (5,896 ft) above sea level. As a result, larch trees really feel at home there. The needles of the larch trees all turn to yellow and orange as of mid-October. The mountains often already have snow around that time, as you can see in this photograph. The combination of warm fall colours and snow creates an appealing contrast as a result. This, in conjunction with the presence of beautiful lakes, makes autumn in the Swiss Alps special. The mountain in this photograph is Piz de la Margna by the way.

Lovely colours and the snow makes them stand-out. Interesting mood as well!
