The Lofoten Archipelago lies on the west coast of Norway within the Arctic Circle. The coastal mountains of Lofoten are breathtaking. They are especially breathtaking in winter because of how the coastal mountains stand out against the water of the Sea and fjords near Lofoten when they have snow on them. Besides that, Lofoten has beautiful sandy beaches and, in many parts, an untouched landscape. Make sure to visit when you get the chance!
It was a lovely day with fast-moving clouds coming directly towards the viewpoint of this Nordic coastal landscape. A longer exposure time smoothened the moving clouds and the water of the Kirkefjorden (Kjerkfjorden). The clouds give the photograph a very dynamic look and feel due to the fact that the clouds moved in the direction from where this view was. Furthermore, it makes the snow-covered mountains of Lofoten stand out better. The black & white treatment makes the photo nicely minimalist.
This photo of the coastal mountains of Lofoten is part of our Mountains & Hills landscape photography theme. This theme contains more mountain landscapes taken in Lofoten. Powerful! It is like the clouds positioned themselves in an effort to make the photo look best 🙂
