Autumn snow in the Swiss Alps presents terrific photography opportunities. Mainly because of the beautiful contrast between warm fall colours and fresh snow. This photograph, titled “In Thin Air”, is an excellent example
This mountain landscape photograph was taken from the Diavolezza viewpoint near Pontresina, which is a small town in the Engadin region in Graubünden, Switzerland. The viewpoint is at an altitude of 2,973 metres (9,754 ft). As a result, the views from there are stunning in all directions. Above all, the viewpoint provides a gorgeous birds-eye view on the Alps as you can see in this photograph. The soft morning light and clouds above the mountain peaks add further drama and mood, in this case. By the way, the name of the big mountain in the foreground is Piz Alv.
Interested in seeing a different mountain landscape with fall colours and snow? Then have a look at the photograph titled Morning Glory. It includes a lake as well.
