This coastal landscape photograph features The Three Sisters. The Three Sisters, or An Triúr Deirféar in Irish, are a group of three peaks at the northwestern end of the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. The view in this Irish landscape in black & white is from Sybil Head.
Ireland is a place where you tend to get four seasons in one day. As a result, it is a great place to photograph stark and moody coastal landscapes like this one. The clouds came in from the North Atlantic Ocean in the back towards the viewpoint at quite a fast pace. A longer exposure time smoothened the clouds as well as the ocean water. This created an interestingly dynamic sky for this photograph. Also, it made the coastline stand out against the smoothened ocean water. A black & white presentation and a wide crop seemed to fit this scene and mood best.
