This photograph in black & white was captured at a beautiful lake called Lej da Staz, or Stazersee in German. Lej da Staz is a small mountain lake in a forest in the canton of Graubünden, in the southeast of Switzerland. It is close to the well-known town of St. Moritz. Lej da Staz is an excellent location for lakeside landscape photography, especially in autumn. As you can see, it can be extremely foggy there as well. Challenging, but a great moment to try something else and shoot something more intimate like this minimalist lake landscape.
The photograph features reed and its reflection in the lake. The reed against the background of fog creates a distinct minimalist mood. The black and white presentation adds to that. Less is often more! “Zen” seemed like a suitable title for this minimalist lake landscape photograph in black & white.
