Piz Cambrena is a mountain in the beautiful Engadin region in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. The mountain is part of the Bernina Range of the Alps and has an elevation of 3,606 metres (11,831 ft). Piz Cambrena overlooks the Lago Bianco and lies between Piz Palü mountain and the Bernina Pass. The view shown in this minimalist landscape photograph is from the summit of the Bernina Pass.
As you can see, it was quite stormy. Gusting winds created clouds of snow around Piz Cambrena. The late afternoon sun sheds light on parts of the mountain. The snow clouds were interestingly bright as a result. The photograph is presented in black & white. The sparkling snow clouds stand out nicely against the dark sky because of this. Also, the black & white adds a distinct mood and makes the drama come across better.
