Skagsanden Beach is a predominantly sandy beach near the small town of Flakstad in the province of Nordland in Norway. It is part of the Lofoten Archipelago. One of the main features of the beach is its beautiful view of Hustinden mountain, as can be seen in this coastal landscape photograph. The photograph shows Skagsanden beach in winter, and Hustinden mountain just got a fresh dusting of snow in the night before this sunrise.
It was winter, and the tide was high at Skagsanden beach. A longer exposure time smoothened the water of the Norwegian Sea and the clouds in the sky. The photograph is less busy as a result. Besides that, it created a nice contrast between the water and the rocky foreground. Despite the beautiful sunrise colours, a black & white presentation seemed to fit this Nordic coastal landscape best.
The Lofoten Archipelago is an excellent place for hiking, ski tours as well as photography. The archipelago is very scenic. Furthermore, the Norwegian people are super friendly. Make sure to visit when you get the chance!
