This sunset at the Irish coast shows the view on the North Atlantic Ocean from Slea Head on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry, Ireland. The coast of the Dingle Peninsula is quite rugged and has cliffs like shown in the photograph at various locations. Also, you tend to get weather that changes quickly. As a result, Dingle is an excellent location for coastal landscape photography.
It was a colourful sunset with clouds. As a result, the clouds conveniently block the sun a bit. The sky is less bright as a result. A longer exposure time smoothened the water of the North Atlantic Ocean as well as the clouds. The pointy cliffs stand out much better, and the scenery is less busy because of it. The title “Staring at the Sun” seemed fitting for this photograph of a sunset on the Irish coast.
Make sure to also have a look at the photograph titles To the Point, which includes these same cliffs with a different composition and in black & white.

Very special 🙂 Love the colors, however I do prefer the square one in black & white ….
