This fine art photograph of a winter landscape in the Swiss countryside was taken near the medieval town of Gruyères in the Swiss canton of Fribourg. The old oak tree in the photograph is one of the interesting landmarks there.
Trees like this are great photography subjects, especially on misty days in wintertime. This specific scene is unique, because of how the oak tree stands out and against the foggy background. In the back, you see the fading silhouette of a farmhouse and a group of trees. As a result, this fine art photograph of the Swiss countryside has a beautiful minimalist look and feel. Without a doubt, the black and white presentation adds to that. Less is often more! Despite the fog, there still was some sunlight coming through. The dusting of fresh snow on the oak tree is a nice bonus because it gives the tree even more character.

I like this one even more than the square version you published recently. Just a touch more interesting 🙂
