“Frozen” seemed like a very suitable title for this vast winter landscape from Swedish Lapland. It was a cloudy day when this was captured. Therefore it was nice to see some light appear in the landscape and the boreal forest and hills in the back. This photograph features a lakeside cabin in a boreal forest somewhere near Kiruna in Sweden. In the background, you see some rising fog and the hills of Swedish Lapland. The scene immediately caught the eye because of the soft light and the vastness of it. It begged to be photographed with a big sky.
Swedish Lapland, or Lappland, is a province in northernmost Sweden and an excellent place for photographing landscapes. It lies in the Arctic circle. There are many rolling hills, rivers, lakes and beautiful woodlands to work with. Also, you will run into a lot of wildlife, like Arctic fox, Lynx, and Reindeer, to complement landscape photographs. The winters usually offer an abundance of snow.
