The Ballydowane Cove sea stack is a fascinating subject for coastal landscape photographs. This is especially the case at sunset and sunrise. In this case, it was sunset. The colours in the sky were quite warm and the warm colours reflected nicely in the ocean water. A longer exposure time smoothened the seawater and clouds in the sky. As a result, the photograph has a more minimalist look and feel. Besides that, it makes the elegant shape of the sea stack stand out better.
The Ballydowane Cove sea stack stands tall at the far eastern side of Ballydowane Cove beach, which is one of a series of nice secluded beaches in coves along the Copper Coast in County Waterford, Ireland. This Irish coastal area is a UNESCO Global Geopark with sites and landscapes of international geological significance.

Calming indeed! Prefer the tall version in black & white though 🙂
