Less is more. This foggy lake landscape photograph in black & white is an example of minimalism in photography. The photo was captured on a very foggy autumn day at Lake Sils (Silsersee, Lej da Segl) in the Engadin region in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. A great day to try something different and shoot more minimalist photographs around the lake.
The photograph shows a small islet in Lake Sils as well as the end of a peninsula there. Both have larch trees and snow on them. There is quite a bit of fog on the lake. The area around Lake Sils has a lot of beautiful viewpoints. It is not only a great place to photograph but also to hike.
To see a more intimate foggy lake landscape, make sure to have a look at the photograph titled Zen. To see how Lake Sils looks without the fog, make sure to check out the photo titled Enjoy the Silence.
