The Norwegian Sea coast of Lofoten is just fascinating. There are so many things to photograph that most days are simply too short, especially in winter. And it is not only the scenery that is fascinating. The weather often is as well! This photo is an excellent example. It was taken from a beach near Ramberg (Flakstad) on a cold day in winter. In the foreground, you see a snow-covered island with a small lighthouse. On the horizon, dramatic clouds of what later became a snowstorm are closing in. A black & white treatment enhances the moody look and feel.
Lofoten is a beautiful archipelago on the west coast of Norway. The archipelago lies within the Arctic Circle and offers breathtaking coastal and mountain scenery. This is especially the case in winter, because of how the mountains with snow rise from the cold water of the Norwegian Sea coast of Lofoten. Additionally, Lofoten has many secluded bays with sandy beaches and untouched lands. Make sure to add it to your bucket list!
This image of and island at the coast of Lofoten is part of our The Coast photography theme. You will find many coastal landscape photographs there.
