A larch tree forest with snow is at least as beautiful as in autumn, with their golden fall colours. The dark bark and bare tree branches of the larch trees stand out against snow in a very distinct way. This alpine mountain landscape in black & white, titled “The Wall”, is a great example. The thin layer of fresh snow on the branches of the larch trees in the setting with snow and rising fog makes the trees really stand out.
This winter landscape was photographed near La Fouly in the Alps of the Swiss canton of Valais. La Fouly is a small town in the beautiful Val Ferret valley in the south of Switzerland. The scene caught the eye because of the impressive wall of rising fog behind the larch tree forest. Hence the title. The name of the mountain in the back is La Tsavre.

John Moore –
A wall indeed. Very nice. Would love to purchase a square version of this showing the left side only. Would that be possible?
