This photograph features Lough Caragh. Lough Caragh is a very scenic lake in Killarney National Park in County Kerry in Ireland. Killarney National Park is Ireland’s oldest National Park. The lake is also called Caragh Lake or Loch Cárthaà in Irish. The wooden pier (or is it a jetty?) in this photograph is quite unique. It appears to be floating when the water in the lake is a bit higher. It makes for a great foreground subject in landscape photography.
The lake landscape photograph was taken at the end of the day, with last light warming the pier and the hills in the back. A longer exposure time smoothened the water of the lake. This photograph of Lough Caragh in Killarney has a moody but soothing look and feel as a result. Undoubtedly, the presentation in black and white strengthens that.
Make sure to also have a look at a photograph titled The Landing, to see an alternative version of this lake landscape with a wooden pier in Lough Caragh.
This photograph of a wooden pier in Lough Caragh is part of our Man-made photography theme. You will find more photos that feature piers and jetties there. Aileen Dunne –
Very special! I prefer this one over the other version you have up.
