This landscape photograph of a misty lake landscape was taken on the east shore of a Swiss lake called Lac de Neuchâtel, near the municipality of Estavayer-le-Lac. Lac de Neuchâtel is one of the largest lakes in Switzerland.
The day started out very foggy and therefore it was a great day to photograph minimalist scenes like this one titled “Broken”. This broken but interesting old pier also appeared in the fine art photographs titled Tranquillity and Abandoned as well. A longer exposure smoothened the water and foggy sky. The photo has a moody but soothing and zen look as a result. Undoubtedly, the black and white presentation of this misty lake landscape helps with that as well. The pier comes into the photograph from the side and leads the eye towards the foggy horizon. Less is more!
Please check out our Minimalist photography theme for more soothing and misty lake landscape photographs. Also, consider visiting our Lakes landscape photography theme. This theme features many more lake landscapes from around the world. Quite a few of them with piers like the one.
