This moody landscape photograph in colour features a snaky mountain river in the Swiss Alps. It was captured at the end of the day. As a result, the light is soft. The clouds above the mountains are dark, which adds a foreboding mood to the scene. The meandering mountain river conveniently leads the eye right to the area with light as well as the mountains in the background. Hence the title “Up the Stream”. By the way, the name of the dominant peak in the back is Piz Üertsch.
This alpine mountain river is located close to the Albula pass road in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. It was the start of autumn when this photograph was captured. As a result, the larch trees to the left of the mountain river already have some of their fall colours.

Beautiful painterly quality to this Johan. The winding stream leading you up to those majestic mountains, and then to find the kiss of light. Gorgeous!
