The view in this fine art photograph of three trees in a winter landscape is near the town of Fribourg in the countryside in the west of Switzerland. It was a very misty winter day, and the sun had a tough time breaking through the thick fog. Hence the title “White Out”. The trees seem to be keeping each other warm while a bird is anxiously waiting to be warmed by the sun.
Trees, fog, and winter are an excellent combination for creating minimalist landscape photographs, as this photograph shows. Less is more! The background of fog creates a distinctly minimalist look and feel. The black and white presentation adds to that look and feel. The trees have a fresh dusting of snow, which makes them stand out nicely.

Bert Schneider –
Lovely winter landscape. The light is nice and I like how the “weight” of the bird seemingly pushed the trees the right down 😀
