Winters in the Swiss Alps are beautiful, especially after a few nights with new snow. This winter landscape photograph in black & white is titled “Let it snow”. It illustrates how gorgeous and crispy the winter scenery in the mountains of Switzerland is. Snow fell in the night before the sun took over on this winter’s day in the Alps. As a result, the snow on the meadow is still untouched, and the trees have a fresh dusting of snow on them.
The viewpoint in this landscape photograph is along a hiking trail near Villars-sur-Ollon. Villars-sur-Ollon is a small town near Aigle in the Swiss canton of Vaud.
The old barn you see in the photograph is typical for the Swiss Alps. You will run into them regularly when visiting the Swiss Alps. The dominant mountain in the back is the Grand Muveran, and the smaller peak just to the right of it is the Petit Muveran. These are mountains of the Bernese Alps.
