Lofoten is an archipelago in the county of Nordland in Norway. The archipelago lies within the Arctic Circle. The scenery in Lofoten is absolutely breathtaking, especially in winter, with its coastal mountains, sheltered bays, beaches, and untouched lands. Therefore, it is an excellent location for coastal landscape photography. This minimalist photograph of a small lighthouse in Lofoten illustrates that. So, if you get the chance to visit, go for it!
This photograph in B&W features a small lighthouse situated just off the coast in the Norwegian Sea in Lofoten. The viewpoint is in one of the many sheltered bays along the coast of Lofoten. It was a very calm day. As a result, only a limited longer exposure time was needed to smooth out the last wrinkles in the water. The smooth water and the soft clouds create a distinct minimalist and soothing look and feel, in conjunction with the black & white conversion. Furthermore, if you look closely, you will see two birds sitting on the railing of the lighthouse.
