The view in this minimalist winter landscape in B&W is near the town of Fribourg in Switzerland. The countryside around Fribourg is hilly, and groups of fruit trees like these are readily available. And enough of them have enough space around them so that they can be isolated from man-made things in the landscape. All in all, it is a unique area for photographing a more minimalist winter landscape with trees like this one.
It was a sunny winter day when this scene was photographed. The sun lights the trees sideways. Black & white seemed to fit this winter landscape best. The dark tree bark and branches stand out nicely against the silvery sky because of it. The photograph is more soothing and zen as a result as well. Check out the landscape photographs titled The Oak and White Out, to see other minimalist winter landscape in B&W with trees.
