This black & white lake landscape photograph of a wooden pier in Lac Léman, or Lake Geneva in English, was taken during sunset. As a result, sunset light softly lights the pier sideways. A longer exposure time smoothened the water and clouds. The wooden pier with its t-shape stands out even more because of that smoothening technique. This photograph is titled “Shadows & Light”, because of the nice contrast between the shadows and light created by the sunset light.
Lac Léman is one of the largest lakes in Europe and lies between the southwest of Switzerland and France. You can find this specific T-shaped wooden pier at the beach in Préverenges. Préverenges is a small town in the Swiss canton of Vaud. The sandy beach there has many worthwhile foreground subjects. So, always worth exploring. Have a look at the photograph titled Stepping Stones, for instance. That one was captured there as well.
This photograph of a wooden pier in Lac Léman is part of our Lakes landscape photography theme. The theme showcases many more photos of Lac Léman as well as of other lakes. You will also find a few more that feature this wooden pier in Lac Léman. Alternatively, check out our Black and White Photography portfolio to see more fine art photographs in B&W like this one.
